Sparth Community Centre is now closed

Sadly, after more than 35 years, Sparth Community Centre has been forced to close.

The closure is a result of local authority cuts to the Centre's core funding, from £45,700 three years ago to just £12,000 this year. This, together with the affects of COVID-19 (no income whatsoever from hire charges since March 2020), mean the Centre is no longer financially viable.

The Centre is currently being used as a Community Food Warehouse, facilitated by Action Together ~ this will carry on until at least March 2022, after which it will be up to Rochdale Borough Council (who own the building) to decide what happens next.

The Centre's Management & Staff would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years ~ we will miss you one and all.
